Seller Obligations and Compliance
1. Fair Trade Practices & Returns
Sellers must not engage in unfair, deceptive, or misleading practices. All product claims and representations must be accurate and verifiable. Sellers are required to accept returns and provide refunds for defective, incorrect, or misrepresented items. Returns for delayed deliveries must also be honored unless due to exceptional circumstances.
2. Legal and Regulatory Compliance
Sellers are responsible for complying with all applicable Indian laws and regulations. This includes but is not limited to:
-
Sale of Goods Act, 1930

-
FSSAI compliance for ingestible goods
-
Legal Metrology laws for packaging and labeling
-
GST and applicable tax regulations
Products requiring prescriptions (such as those containing Schedule E(1) ingredients) must not be sold without a valid Ayurvedic practitioner’s prescription. Required warnings and packaging instructions must be clearly displayed.
3. Product Listing and Quality
Sellers must provide complete and accurate details for every product listed, including:
-
Clear images and product descriptions
-
Ingredient lists and safety disclaimers
-
Net quantity and packaging size
-
MRP, selling price, and country of origin
-
Batch number and expiry dates (if applicable)
Only genuine, unexpired, safe, and legally approved products may be listed. Selling counterfeit, adulterated, or unsafe goods is strictly prohibited.
4. Order Fulfillment and Packaging
Sellers must dispatch the correct products promptly after receiving an order. Timely fulfillment and protective packaging are mandatory. Sellers must inform Dyotha of any order they cannot fulfill and initiate a prompt refund. Title and risk pass to the customer upon confirmed handover to the logistics partner.
5. Returns, Exchanges, and Customer Service
Sellers must adhere to Dyotha’s return and refund policy. If a product is defective, damaged, incorrect, or not as described, the seller must accept the return and issue a full refund or exchange. Terms related to returns, exchanges, and who bears return shipping must be clearly disclosed. A designated contact person must respond to customer complaints within 48 hours and resolve them within 30 days.
6. Invoicing and Taxes
Sellers must issue valid invoices showing full transaction value, applicable taxes, and seller details. Sellers are solely responsible for tax compliance, including GST collection and reporting. Dyotha deducts its commission and transfers the remaining payment to the seller. Any tax-related liability falls solely on the seller.
7. Grievance Officer
Each seller must appoint a Grievance Officer and share their contact details with Dyotha. This officer is responsible for resolving buyer complaints within the prescribed timeline (acknowledgement in 48 hours, resolution within 30 days).
8. Indemnity and Liability
Sellers are fully responsible for their products. In case of harm, defect, regulatory violation, or false advertising, the seller will be liable for compensation or penalties. Sellers agree to indemnify and hold Dyotha harmless against any claims or losses arising from the seller’s products or conduct.
